Through all this self-exploration and awareness work over the past year or so, it's all kinda been about staying positive, focussing on the good, the possible. And yet, I feel... well, I don't feel. That's the problem.
People around me have been quite moody and sad, angry and 'back-the-f#@k'-offish and I miss all that. Sounds stupid right? It's better not to bitch and complain; best to smile and be happy about what we have, etc etc etc. Ya well, it's dark and rainy and cold and miserable--- so I am gonna be too! (not rainy, of course)
Yes, the weather has gotten to me. As it has everyone I think. It's bloody June and we've had nothing but black skies for the past month, or so it feels. Here I am working my ass off- quite literally- to get a smoking bikini bod, and for what? It ain't gonna be hanging out on a beach anytime soon! Bah!
Okay, so it's really about November 13th, right? Yes, that is the date of the Sandra Wickham Classic in New West, the show I will be doing. November 13th. 23.5 weeks away. It's nice to finally have a date. For awhile now it's seemed like I didn't have a target, which for me sucks as I need some kind of deadline to work to. Best under pressure.
Anyways, so that's the date, and I only hope that I can keep motivated in spite of (or perhaps with the help of) this crappy climate and moodiness.
So to post up some info on my workouts, let's go back a week or so...
May 22: Had an intense leg training session with an independent trainer at the gym. He's got some phenomenal trunks so I thought I'd find out what he does to get them. Crazy. Pre-exhausting the calves helps work them... haha!
May 23: Tough getting out of bed. Flexing of the feet not so good. Calves on fire!
May 25: Still can't walk! But, hey, let's go rock climbing! Not a wise idea. After 2.5 hours, I look down and notice something odd. Anyone remember Popeye? Well, imagine his forearms as my calves! They'd ballooned to double their size. Can we say inflammed?
May 26: Day off from working out entirely. On couch, legs elevated!
May 27: Chest/arms; cardio 25 minutes on Stepmill
May 28: Shoulders/abs; cardio 40 minutes- Stepmill, Treadmill
May 29: Cardio 50 minutes - Stepmill, Treadmill
May 30: Quick back workout; 1.5 hour walk through Stanley Park with sis
May 31: Quads- at home
June 1: Cardio- at home; 40 minutes Stationary bike
