So it is now Wednesday and I have not trained since Saturday when I went to SwordFit class.
Sunday I spent the day writing and revising my Case Studies for school. That took me pretty much all day, and I was so mentally exhausted by the end of the day that I did not work out.
Monday I went to visit my dad and brother as they have just returned from Greece. Thought I could sneak in a quick kettlebell session after I got home, but after the drive I was pooped.
Yesterday I buckled down and edited/proofread the Case Studies one last time. Then I hit PRINT. Oh what good feeling. But, alas, no workout.
At the moment, getting these Case Studies done comes before everything else (except family, of course). Today, again, I will head home after work to rewrite a few of the assessments and scan others so I have my own copies. (Not sure the school will return the originals.)
The theme of this blog post is "Priorities". Priorities are these little things that are deemed more important, come first, are number one on our lists of to dos. My blog overall is about training: a high priority. Unfortunately at the moment it must take a back seat. And instead of feeling guilty about it each day like I have for the past few, I am going to accept it as the way it is. So, I may not work out at all this week. And that is okay! If I do, bonus!!
You see, that is what happens with priorities sometimes: they shift. It does not mean they are less important. It just means focus must be placed on one rather than the other for a short time.
The battle I have is that I feel horrible when I do change focus, especially when the priority is me. Someone once told me I don't know how to put others first. Others tell me I have to put myself first more. Confusing? Yes.
What I have learned over the last few years is that a person is no good to others until they are good to themselves. So, priorities must be set, and in this case, they must be about me.
Top Priorities:
School: 1. Mail Case Studies.
2. Take notes and do test on Intuitive Healing.
3. Start reading textbook on Business.
Training: 1. Get workout schedule in check.
2. Get eating schedule in order. Be sure to prep meals early. Eat more.
Downtime: 1. Find time to meditate, at least 20 minutes per day.
2. Spend time with family.
