Doin' It Anyway

This week sure has been one hell of one, and it's only Thursday. Been getting enough sleep for the most part. Eating pretty well. And even though my energy has been ridiculously low, I have gotten into the gym and pushed as far as my body would allow.

You see, I have this something I want to do. In truth, something I need to do.

Someone asked me the other day what my goal was with this training I am doing. I found it hard to answer. At this point, it is not about a result. I don't have any specific way I want to look, or competition I want to win. I just want to grow... in every manner speaking.

When I started this back in 2009, I was stressed, overworked, undernourished, thin (thinning) and didn't have a great outlook on life. Those closest to me can attest to that. But the road to my first stage changed all that. I learned balance. I chose health. I loved life and all it had to offer.

So that is why I have continued. And that is where I am today. Even with these potholes strewn randomly before me, even when I fall into them, I know I am on a joyous, rewarding path. And as all travellers know, it is those unexpected happenings along the way that make for the greatest stories.

It's about the journey. It's always been about the journey.

Four months in. Nine to go.
